Our practice provides counseling in the Parramatta area for a wide range of psychological problems. All counselors in our practice are psychologists with a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology. As such, those with a pertinent referral from a GP are usually eligible for a Medicare rebate for most consultations. At your initial consultation your psychologist will question a range of questions to get a picture of the general nature of the problems you are experiencing and the goals that you have for counseling. Usually by the final of the initial consultation your therapist will be in a position to produce an outline of a counseling plan to present you some understanding of where tomorrow sessions are liable to head. They will also usually be able to give a rough indication of the number of sessions they expect you will require. However obviously this cannot be predicted with certainty and the goals and issues sometimes vary somewhat across the course of therapy. Nonetheless our Parramatta based counselor(s) aim to receive a collaborative approach to counseling, working with you, the client, to develop goals, and ultimately, while providing you with promote and encouragement, aiming to equip you with the skills necessary to tackle issues outside of the counseling room. Medicare Rebates are available for people with an appropriate referral from a GP (or pediatrician or psychiatrist). There are also rebates for up to 12 group therapy sessions per year, in addition to, up to 12 individual therapy sessions per calendar year.
