The aim was to aid local authors with writing and publishing titles about the Hawkesbury and its colorful history. John was a trained teacher and researcher in Philosophy of Education, Jocelyn a research botanist and bio geographer. Before to setting up Deerubbin Press both had been editing academic journals at their respective workplaces and knew publishing processes. They were also assisting a local historical society with editing and publishing local history books. Second editions have been produced of some of these titles and the popular Cruising Guide to the Hawkesbury River and adjacent waterways is now in its fourth edition. We were happy to do so and this resulted in seven titles being published in association with the Council. The time has reach for downsizing of our extensive personal reference libraries and so Deerubbin Press is now offering a wide range of secondhand titles at appropriate sale prices to those interested. Some years after John’s end Jocelyn decided to return to live in New Zealand and Sue standard joined Deerubbin Press in 2014 to aid with sales of both the fresh and the ex personal library books.
